Loblaws is trying to change the face of food and nutrition in Canada.
It recently announced plans to open a grocery store in downtown Toronto that will sell organic food, but its plans are not limited to that.
In fact, Loblaws will soon open an entire chain of grocery stores in Canada, with its stores selling everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to prepared meals and more.
The news comes from the blog of The Lad, an Ontario-based food blogger who specializes in exploring the food, culture and politics of Ontario.
According to The Lad’s blog, the grocery store will serve up “a mix of organic and conventional products” as well as “healthy food from around the world.”
“We think it’s going to be a good way to introduce people to the whole concept of organic food,” said Andrew Gagnon, the co-founder of Loblaws.
“The whole concept is, it’s not just a product; it’s a way of life.”
Gagnons co-authored a recent book about the food industry called Food and The Devil, which is based on his own experiences as a food worker in the region.
The book explores the complex relationship between food and health, and explores the intersection between food production and farming practices.
In his book, Gagns author describes how the organic food movement in Canada has gained momentum over the past decade.
The Loblaws grocery store, which will open in 2021, will feature organic products and will be the first of its kind in the country, said Gagnson.
In 2017, Loblaw launched a new organic grocery store on Main Street in Toronto, called Loblaws Fresh Market.
The store is expected to be the largest in the city by 2020, according to Gagnis blog.
The grocery store plans to offer a variety of products, including “local organic” and “organic groceries.”
The Loblaw Fresh Market will also offer the first food from Canada’s largest organic food company, Lobster Bay, which also produces products like produce, meats and dairy products.
Loblaws, Gignon said, will be “taking a big step forward” when it comes to sustainable food production.
The Canadian grocery chain plans to start selling produce and produce products in 2017, and it will also begin selling frozen produce.
“It’s very exciting,” Gagnin said of Loblaw’s plans to expand in Canada over the next decade.
“We’re very excited to be part of that movement.”
According to Gignons blog, Gannon is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto.
In the book, The Lad argues that food should be seen as “a sacred, personal, and moral obligation.”
“The Loblaws concept of food as a sacred, private and moral responsibility is a great start,” said Gannons blog.
“And we’re excited to see what other Loblaws locations in Canada will offer.”
